New Ride

So, I broke down and did it. I bought a new car.

Never had a problem with the old Orange Neon, for a cheapo special credit car it did a great job. I just never liked it. I could see a teenage girl driving it, not me. It was a 2001 Dodge Neon ES, standard, no frills, point A to point B, car. It got me where I needed to go and never cost me a dime in repairs.

Now I have a 2008 Honda Civic EX, automatic, power everything, moonroof, alloys, cruise, nice stock sound system, essentially everything but leather seats. I’ve never owned a new car before. I’ve never had cruise control, or an AC that blows cold for that matter! I’m kinda in love with it. It handles so well and after driving my old car for over 2 years, just seems to float over the road. Sure my payments went up, insurance too, and registering it was, well, painful (5 bills -Ow!), but I’m glad I did it.

My primary concern was fuel efficiency, but I wanted a sporty look and some higher trim features (mags, moonroof). The color (deep metallic “Royal” blue) sealed it. One ride and I was sold. Went home poured over my budget and decided I could swing it, then went in on Saturday 2 weeks ago and wrote it up.

I Took it up home this past weekend and it was awesome. It got just over 35mpg and was a smooth comfortable ride both ways. Good times.
